Baltic Sea
Special News: Today a Finnish Cyclist went in front of us (after we had past him) and served us well as a windshield for about 10 km. This was really great and we think it was a former Tour de France
participant (😉).
Backstage Information: Did not see any reindeer. We saw enough warning street signs that they could cross. Not sure whether they have some left in Finland.
Starting point (A): SF-Caravan Lohenpyrstö
Ending point (B): Merihelmi Camping
The tour today was 139 km long. Warm weather again from 23oC in the morning and 32oC when we arrived at the camping site at 1:45pm.
The wind was not on our side, it came from North with 10-15 km/h.
Basically we followed the E8 which follows the Baltic Sea coast. Not much we could do to avoid it. Fast but incredible boring. We past Oulo which is the 5th largest city of Finland and the norternmost city of the European Union. Just above Oulo, Lapland begins with the capital we visit tomorrow: Rovaniemi - also known as the Home of Santa Claus.
Alois did about 80km today.
Hei hei!!
