Special News: nothing important to report

Backstage Information: After 7 days bike ride I can safely state that my bike is now noise free!! Experts from E-Motion / Bad Zwischenahn have made this possible. During our first part from Gibraltar to Enschede plus my few months training time my bike was making noises like click-clack whenever I padeled. I tried 2 pair of shoes, 3 pairs of pedal - but no success. E-Motion made it happen by using the specified torque for all screws of my bike! Congratulation and thank you so much!!

Starting point (A): Helsingborg First Camp, Helsingborg 

Ending point (B): Camping Berghem Prästgården

Today we had perfect biking weather: 18oC and no rain (except for Alois who got hit by a rain shower when he came our way). We did 130 km and saw only 1 single shop where we got our Coke, Café and Swedish sausages. Maybe the Komoot route is looking for no distraction..

When we did our breakfast break we stopped at a ramp or platform where we could sit. We thought that this is an industrial place... suddenly 2 people came around a corner and told us that this is a prison area and we should quickly go ahead to avoid police coming at us - they could assume that we are suspicious people... good that we had already eaten our honey bread ...

Alois went this morning to the new Camping site for tonight and was than biking back to our direction. He did again 60 km.

When we were settled down at the Camping site, around 1:30pm, a strong shower hit us for about one hour. All shoes got wet, but the ride was done for today.

For dinner our cooks did again a fantastic job to create a great and delicious dinner (pleade see the photos).

    Heute und morgen werdet ihr nach Wetterbericht nass werden, die Tage danach ist aber gutes Radwetter auf eurer Tour vorhergesagt.
    Bin gespannt wie es dann .IT den Mücken aussieht.

      Hi Toni
      Mücken tagsüber kein Problem. Temperaturen bei sub 20 Grad und zur Zeit viel Regen. Läuft bis jetzt in geordneten Bahnen, sprich nicht am Limit.

Training for 2 - for 2025 Tour

 Stefan and I had a rainy training for 6 days on Mallorca. With total of 520km and 7000 AM we basically met the biking work from last year - except: we got totally wet on 4 training days of 6!! Germany has fantastic weather these weeks and we fly to this beautiful island for getting wet. At least we trained for consecutive 6 days and still have a lot of training to do for the next 6 weeks before we start our second part of our tour. We look forward for this tour!!!

Nordkapp

Fantastic News: we arrived at the Nordkapp after 80 km , 1400 HM at around 12pm. It was the toughest day of our journey as it was only 9°C, headwind plus raining. Performance statistics from Professor Beierke (Alois in brackets):   Gibraltar to the North Cape:        5.446,4 km ( 2.236 km)      37.853 HM (altitude), (14.160 HM) Believe it or not but we did every day in average 133 km (55 km) with 923 HM (354 HM). The Professor confirmed the data!! Statistic from this year cycle tour: Enschede - Nordkapp:      2.912,4 km (1.211 km)     16.506 HM  (6300 HM) Norway (10th country): 290 km and 2948 HM (altitude up) Backstage Information : Norway has a population of 5.6 million people. Peace

  After a good breakfast we were heading towards Enschede, the place we had to finish our tour last year. The distance was 170km from Edewecht to Enschede. To make peace with this town, we had to meet at the polder to start our tour to the Northkap this year. Done. Start of our tour was 12:30pm and we did 75km today. At 30oC it was a smooth and warm ride with no event or break. Alois went ahead with Frank and reserved a nice camping site place at the sea in Haselünne. Had a relaxed evening with great shower, good barbecue with salad and walk to the Haselünner sea. See you tomorrow!
